Tacoma Friends of the Children Values Selection Survey

Friends of the Children Tacoma (TFOC) is part of a national network of Friends of the Children chapters across the United States. Friends of the Children connects children– all of whom have unique talents–to a paid, professional mentor called a Friend. We hire and train Friends whose full-time jobs are to support our youth to succeed, despite the extremely challenging situations most experience, from as early as age 4 through high school graduation – 12+ years, no matter what.

TFOC was the dream of a group of dedicated individuals, which opened offices in 2019. Since our opening, we have served 48 youth and are impacting the lives of nearly 170 individuals.

As we embark on our third year and our chapter matures, we will naturally gain more independence from our national organization. To that, systems, strategies, and structures that were adopted in our early stages can be examined and new methods put in place for our continued success.

Our website lists the values of the national brand. We like to also have value statements that convey the values and priorities of TFOC, define our business culture, how we treat our employees, and work with our partners and community.

To help us create the value statements, please review each of the value words listed below and select 10 words. We will tabulate the staff’s suggestions and draft value statements with the top 10 words. Next week we will send you a second survey for your input. Thank you.
